Chris Young is a lifelong Rhode Islander with an abiding love for nature. He spent his childhood exploring the pond’s edge, catching and releasing wildlife. In his late teens, Young duck hunted which brought him to try his hand at decoy duck carving. Eager to explore other mediums and greatly inspired by his older brother Bill, a talented artist and sculptor, Young eventually began crafting art with steel rebar before ultimately finding a love for copper.
For over sixteen years, Young’s copper sculptures have been exhibited all around New England, at annual events such as the New England Saltwater Fishing Show and Narragansett Art Festival. Young’s creations have also been for sale at boutique gift shops including The Bird’s Nest on Block Island and JW Graham’s Yes Gallery in Wickford. His work is now available on Etsy.
